Five floors of character-filled brewery, pub, dining and meeting space. Offering unmatched historical atmosphere fused with forward-thinking cuisine.

Situated in a historically significant corner, where George Street meets Water Street in downtown St. John's, YellowBelly Brewery & Public House is housed in a magnificent 18th century building boasting multiple fireplaces, original brickwork, wide plank flooring and an open concept kitchen and brewhouse.

"It's been a true labour of love," says Craig of the restoration, which has garnered a Southcott Award from the Newfoundland Historic Trust. "It took five years, three months and 11 days... but who's counting?"

YellowBelly's award-winning brewmaster Liam McKenna has six beers in constant production – Wexford Wheat, YellowBelly Pale Ale, Fighting Irish Red Ale, St. John's Stout, YYT East Coast Cream Ale, and Come From Away (CFA) Islander Pale Ale. All are available by bottle from the bar and from NLC (Newfoundland & Labrador Liquor Corporation) stores, and sold by the pint at YellowBelly and O'Reilly's, Bitters and the St. John's Airport lounge.

In addition to the restaurant and brewery, there is a multi-level space at the top of the building, perfect for weddings, meetings, or special events.

"Craig and I had our own wedding reception there in May 2008," says co-owner Brenda O'Reilly. "It's far and away the best reception area available in downtown St. John's and can easily accommodate up to 400 people."

And naturally, all the food and beer at YellowBelly is made from scratch in the state of the art kitchen and brewhouse, using only the freshest local ingredients.
